Precautions for use of micro motor

Overload and locked rotor


When the motor is running, it generates heat due to energy conversion inside the coil and iron core, and the temperature gradually rises. When the load is within the rated range, the heat generated and emitted are balanced, and the coil will not be burned. However, it will cause heating under overload and locked rotor. When the operation time is long, the insulating film on the coil copper wire is dissolved, resulting in a short circuit between the copper wires and burning the motor.


At low speed


Carbon brushes are generally used for DC motors.


The friction between the rotating commutator and the carbon brush produces sparks at the commutator commutation.


When the motor is running at low speed, the carbon brush powder generated by the friction between the commutator and the carbon brush accumulates in the commutator slot, resulting in short circuit and burning out the motor and driver. Please pay great attention.


Countermeasures of electromagnetic noise


In the case of DC motor, the spark between carbon brush and commutator causes electromagnetic noise.


This kind of electromagnetic noise radiates inside the wire or outside the motor and affects the surrounding machines. Our company has mature solutions to this kind of electromagnetic noise.


About inertia and braking


After the motor is powered off, the rotor will rotate due to inertia, which is the inertia of DC motor. If you want to stop the rotation immediately, short circuit the positive and negative terminals after turning off the power supply. This kind of braking is implemented by using the power generation (reverse current) of the motor. The current may increase temporarily and shorten the service life of the motor.


Turn the motor with the output shaft


Please do not rotate the gear motor from the output shaft direction in order to adjust the position when installing parts.


※ the gear head will become a speed increasing mechanism, causing internal damage such as gears, resulting in the motor becoming a generator.


Installation position


The standard installation position is the same horizontal position as the quality inspection.


※ please pay attention. When used in other directions, it may cause the leakage of lubricating oil and load change of gear motor, so as to change the characteristics in the horizontal direction.


Processing


The output shaft can be processed in various ways.


※ during processing, the load, impact and cutting powder during processing may cause damage to the products.


Screw


Please confirm the form and length of the appearance drawing before installing the screw.


※ when installing the gear motor, the screw is too long and the fixing stud is too large, which will cause the deformation and damage of internal mechanism parts, and the deformation of the screw itself will lead to accidents. In addition, when the fixing stud is too weak, it may also be the cause of instability or falling off. Please pay attention when using.


Installation of output shaft


Use adhesive carefully.


※ please use it carefully to prevent the adhesive from flowing into the shaft through the output shaft.


In particular, volatile adhesives such as silicone adhesive may cause adverse effects inside the motor. Please avoid using them. In addition, please avoid over pressurization to prevent internal structure deformation and damage.


Motor terminal


Please carry out welding in a short time. (recommended: the temperature of welded joint is 340-400, which can be implemented within 2 seconds)


※ overheating of terminals will cause dissolution of motor parts and bad internal structure. In addition, imposing pressure on the terminal part will increase the internal burden of the motor and cause damage inside the motor.


Lubricating oil


Apply to the sliding part of the gear.


※ please be careful when using in special environment. According to the structural characteristics of the motor, it is possible to seep to the outside.


Operating temperature range


Please use it within the range of - 10 ℃ - + 60 ℃. The values recorded in the catalogue are the values between 20 ℃ and 25 ℃ at room temperature.


※ when used at the temperature outside the specified range, the lubricating oil of the gear head will not work normally and the motor will not start.


Storage temperature range


Please keep it within - 15 ℃ ^ + 65 ℃


※ when it is stored outside the temperature range, the lubricating oil of the gear head will be unable to operate, and the motor cannot be started.


Relative temperature range


Please use it within the range of humidity 20% - 85%rh and no condensation.


※ in the humid environment, the metal parts will cause malfunction due to rust. Please handle it carefully.
